Just, listening to some music using Foobar2000 and Realtek build 8573 drivers. Excellent
Got a Q, if anyone knows:
What did they get rid of in 8573 as compared to 8569?
The folder for 8569 has 306 files and 3 folders, while 8573 has 283 files and 0 folders.

I wonder which one (135 or 143MB) is correct for an Asus Z170PRO Gaming..
(I have installed the 143MB version with success on Windows 1803)

You're most welcome. Glad you sort it out.
From now on, whenever a new version comes along, you'll know which .inf file to check.
And a small observation. When searching for your HW ID, get the second one from Device Manager (the one without the &REV_1000). The first one is very OEM specific and usually is not referenced in drivers.
the WOV files (except for Rtkwovapi.dll) have been removed in the x64 versions of the 8573 HDA driver (the "WOV" folder is also gone)
143Mb, D4ni3l.
the 135Mb version is an HDA/SST combo driver for Lenovo computers only
Note: I was busy fixing a relative's computer and doing an HDD upgrade on my HP m8417c computer for the past few days. since I was stuck with using 8551 HDA, I will definitely update to 8573 HDA and the next update after that will be in the 8600s for me.
