On my wondows 10 machine the realtek audio has started muting itself automatically.
I then pull the slider to the right to get volume (ie to 36) after a few seconds the slider automatically moves left down to zero
i am running windows 10 version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.4170)

There's nothing in your My Computer so have to ask about what type computer, Notebook/Laptop or Desktop, make and model number. If a Notebook, most all have a hardware setting using a key combination to control audio. If a Desktop, does it have a multi-media keyboard connected?

yes i have a multi media keyboard attached
I'd check the setting of the keyboard before using Windows settings for the audio, make sure it is not fully set for low volume or muted. Or in other words Windows works with what the hardware makes available.
