can I STOP windows media player from "updating media library"?

    can I STOP windows media player from "updating media library"?


    it wants to add pictures music, any and everything and ties up my infrequent use of wmp while it does that

    it gets album titles wrong and combines albums into one
    it adds library books so when I delete them from my media files, l have to waste time deleting them from wmp...

    isn't there any way to stop "updating media library?"

    Well, I use VLC for videos, but yeah.
    WMP just doesn't cut it anymore.
