    No sound in windows 10

    Hello,

Suddenly I lost all sound on my computer.
    WIndows 10 Home, 22H2

    Sound system is working perfectly

    Troubleshooting audio found nothing

Youtube videos won't even start, Facebook videos play without sound but stop if i put sound on...

I turned pc off and then back on and the sound would work OK for few seconds while the pc was still starting up...
Also when I changed something in audio (surround for headphones maybe??) sound worked for a while

I use Firefox but no sound on Chrome or Edge

    Any ideas?

    Hi,

    Sound system is working perfectly
    - do you mean everything from the connection to your PC works, including said connection (whatever that may be) and you can hear sound from a different source using your 'sound system'?

I assume you mean you have tried using basic wired headphones.

If not, how is equipment connected? Bluetooth?
If Bluetooth is it enabled? Paired?

Suddenly I lost all sound on my computer.
Have you tried using a System Restore point (previously created)?

I only meant to say that I was able to listen to radio

No bluetooth or anything like that just wires and speakers

And thank you for your reply.

I was hoping to find an answer before restoring to previous state...

    Again thank you.

Do you understand what System Restore does? It's not a clean install.. in fact you can see what changes it makes (if any) before you use it.

    You have a choice.

Solve the problem with the minimum amount of time of the part of both you and an unpaid volunteer, or try to find that free magical instant technical fix to reverse whatever you've done or has happened that everyone naturally wants.

Sadly my crystal ball is down for unforeseen maintenance...

I used restore point created automatically few days ago.

    It didn't do the trick

I used to make restore points all the time but they seem to have disappeared

The problem is gone now it seems...

I updated mouse software and it apparently did something :)

Well it looks like the problem is back...

Check device manager, Click View > Show hidden devices, do you see any device errors?

    Thank you!!

I surprised myself and got it working somehow.

Had to do all that smc and dism stuff

But it was really a strange problem

Three times I got it working for like 10 seconds then it started stuttering and went quiet after that
Must have been the recent update.
Although the sound was alright immediately after the update
