UPDATE - Sound Blaster card now working.

First, I switched the slot with the already installed WiFi card I installed two years ago, the sound card started working. I was shocked. Then, I installed the WiFi card where I removed the sound card from, that worked; another surprised. What I did was just leave them there and not touch either again. Whatever the reason for the malfunctioning earlier, that's no more.

The Dell's system audio (BIOS) and the Dell's monitor audios are all disabled.

Thank you all for your helping me resolve my dilemma, well appreciated.
    Stay safe enough!

    Thanks!
But why won't the card's software install?

Have you definitely got one of these variants? You could try uninstalling anything connected with Realtek and rebooting.Sound Card Purchase Dilemma-screenshot-2024-01-19-13-55-18.png

It seems to me that you have dirty Sound Card contacts and PCI-E slots.

Whilst plugging cards in/out may shift dirt, you really need to clean both to make sure of reliable contacts.
For the PCI-E or RAM slots etc, I use a piece of Card dampened with alcohol.

"But why won't the card's software install?"

Same thing as above, could still be dirty contacts or Card not being fully plugged in.

Also make sure you have the correct driver for the particular Card and OS. Sound Blaster has a lot of minor variations.

I had to unplug everything, took the case into the garage, vacuumed and then used the air can to really blew off dust. I did not go as far as cleaning with alcohol; got this after I had already used air.

The software I used was from the link in the literature with the card, and am sure it's the correct one. I'll keep researching to find out why.

    Thanks for your time.

Last night, I completely removed all Realtek traces in my system, including the registry. This eveing, when I get home, I'll give the OEM driver another shot. Nothing (I think) is connected to the Realtek. I disabled the system audio (BIOS) and the Dell monitor audios in the Sound tab.

I'll keep trying; won't give up on this.

Just purchased Sound Blaster Audigy FX. Creative is a company in business for a million years, without live chat or a phone contact number; very shameful indeed.
The "problem" with a soundcard is that it works forever, unlike CPU or GPU, it never gets old, you only need drivers. But selling a product and providing a support forever takes money and it is really hard to do. Creative is the best example. When MS released the new OS, Creative said that the soundcard does not support some feature, but some 3rd party dev created drivers for it and Creative sued him for it, then they released drivers for the feature, which was not supposed to be there. Some new more expensive soundcards Creative releases have worse stats than soundcards before. You can try 3rd party drivers for older Creative soundcards.

I'd double check the software. Here's my link. Creative Worldwide Support - Sound Blaster Audigy FxSound Card Purchase Dilemma-screenshot-2024-01-19-22-44-27.png

Yap, that's the same driver I have been using. I chatted with Creative this afternoon, the tech guy directed me to the same driver. I just downloaded the driver again, still, the installation stalls. This time, I chose "Custom", and selected only the driver, still, the process stalls. The Creative tech sent me link on how to remove old drivers, which I did all. I am really disappointed that I cannot install just the driver only. It's hard to give up, but I don't have any choice since I seem to have done it all.

By the way, the sound card is working, just that I would prefer to use the Creative driver and app.

Although I'm a 97% Linux user I installed the software in my rarely used but up to date Windows. It should install OK, I didn't use custom. It's interesting to note during software installation driver '1' was replaced by '2' .Sound Card Purchase Dilemma-capture555.jpgSound Card Purchase Dilemma-capture55.jpg .
