disable windows 10 volume OSD, Is Volume˛ the only solution ?

    Hi
I would like to ask how can I disable volume osd for windows 10 (maybe for windows 11) at all
I don't talk about to disable for firefox or chrome or vlc , but disable at all
I have read there is HideVolumeOSD ,but there is some glitches with windows 11

I'm asking in the general forum ,just because it's not about customize windows , and i would like to skip to ask in w11 forum again

does Volume˛ hide windows 10/11 ad well ?
    thanks

for volume osd i mean this

Hi, it doesn't seem there's any way available in Windows to disable the volume overlay popup for all cases natively.
If there was, people wouldn't have written programs to do it.

HideVolumeOSD seems to have been updated for Win 11 in 2022
    - Windows 11 support . UnlimitedStack/HideVolumeOSD@77d58bd . GitHub
Feel free to try that version - v1.4

Otherwise you could try Volume2... I can't comment on Win 11.

    Hi
may I ask you does Volume2 hide windows 10 osd volume as well always?
because I have download the last zip release portable version with Config.ini inside the main folder , and it doesn't hide the w10 osd volume
have you checked the portable version (it is even stealth)?
by the way Volume˛ beautiful program

Reducing notification time might work but it will affect all notifications.

    Notifications display time

    Pop up volume control interface

    does it work to you?
    thanks

I was running Version 1.1.6.428 (31.12.2020) - have now updated it to 1.1.7.449 (I had no update prompt previously).

That seems to work after the update - didn't before; tried using the keyboard volume keys and could disable the volume overlay popup.
Thanks for the idea that led me to check the version.

    Hi
    good to know
I 'm using the portable version now , and it works but with some custom keys but not with the logitech keyboard volume keys
are you using custom hotkeys to increase/decrease volume or your keyboard volume keys
    thanks

Well, that's odd- it worked the first time after the update- but not again... (standard laptop keyboard keys).

I've never tried it. I rarely see the OSD volume control so it doesn't bother me.

This morning after a restart it happened Volume2 was set to disable the volume OSD.
    And it was disabled again.

Based on limited attempts, I find that it can disable it, but enabling and disabling it again isn't reliable.
