    Problem updating my audio drivers

    Hello,
I have an ASUS Zenith II Extreme Alpha MB, and a couple of days ago I updated the drivers, following this procedure:

[DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (AMD 5xx/6xx/TRX40 & I... - Republic of Gamers Forum - 845528
Specifically these drivers and procedure but something went wrong:

When opening the Realtek Audio Console, I keep seeing that it can't connect to RPC service.
When searching in Taskbar, startup services, there was no Realtek service there.

So, right now I uninstalled everything audio related ( drivers, .inf files) using Rapr.exe DriverStoreExplorer.
    Device manager show this:

After reading this thread Determine the HDA Realtek driver needed for your Audio and specifically post #492, here is what I got:

    Problem updating my audio drivers-screen-shot-12-01-23-02.15-pm.png

Now I would like some help for correctly install all the audio files needed.
    Thank you very much.

There are drivers for your MOBO listed here:
ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha | Motherboards | ROG Global

    - including a Realtek driver.

I'd recommend you reverse what you've done by -
    - using an appropriate System Restore point (preferred option)
    or
    - restoring a recently created 3rd party disk image of your Windows partition
(noting this latter would revert all data on that partition to as it was when you created the image, so you would need to take due precautions before doing so).

Using Driver Store Explorer should be done with due caution.

    Thanks,
    I know those drivers.
Here what it is inside of the zip file downloaded from that Asus page:

    Just to be sure...
    Should I double click on AsusSetup.exe or setup.exe ?
Should i run them as an Administrator ?

I ask this because there is zero instructions about how to do it.
The various Apps for instance....Sonic Studio, DTS and so on....should they install by themself when running one of the two commands above ?

I know it mught sound strange posting these questions, but trust me... I spent almost all of yesterday afternoon trying to get out of this thing...
    Thanks

Unfortunately I think I have none of the two options available..
I disabled A-Volute infamous Nahimic service back in early November, just to be able to install, and use, VoiceAttack in DCS and other FlightSims.
Since then, I noticed that the audio was far less "exciting"... so, having some days off, I decided to update the drivers, but now I am in this situation and I've checked if I have a System Restore point previous to when I disdabled the Nahimic services, but there is not...

At this point, you think that a clean install of the drivers, would be useless ?

The basic difficulty is you seem to have run some scripts or taken actions which have potentially affected a number of things. It is entirely obscure to me what the initial complicated multi-step procedure may have done. E.g. I have no idea what SS3 cleaner might be.

Hence my recommendation to use a restore point or restore a 3rd party disk image to get back to a previous working state.

Those two are basic means of protecting your PC and your O/S - from things that 'happen' or things you do yourself- and giving yourself a second chance. Unfortunately you have neither.

Curiously after all that it doesn't look as though the Realtek driver has been uninstalled- although from your comments about the service some damage has been done.

It would seem safe to proceed with the installation of the driver you've downloaded (there is a setup.exe file, for example, but also an Asussetup.exe file).

You can check with Asus - my guess is the latter is the one to start with.

SS3 is Sonic Studio 3, not a Cleaner but an app included in the driver package of this MB

Should I run it in Admin mode ?

Tried Live Update and it say "No Update Available".
The second option I have it already installed and it give only the latest driver available, which is the one I downloaded and showed you all the files inside the zip.

    Thank you.

I would have expected that to have downloaded it and launched it so as to install it.

    So, here I am again.
Decided to do a clean fresh install of Windows 10.
Problem not solved.... just after finished W10 install, I installed the official ASUS Realtek drivers for my MB.
At the end, same Realtek Audio Control Panel cannot connect to RPC... in Task Manager there is no Realtek service.. in device manager under Sound, video and game controller, there is no Realtek HD device, but only 2 Realtek USB2.0 Audio devices...
Tried another clean install, with PC disconnected from the net ( hoping this way to block any audio driver update while I was installing W10..), but same result...

I am out of ideas for how to solve this issue...
    Any input is welcome.
    Thanks

    There are 2 installer exe's --- try them both (setup.exe and asussetup.exe).

Check under device manager's software components (or apo in windows 11) --- you should see a bunch of realtek software components (including realtek audio service).

You have a realtek USB audio chipset --- the driver versions come with 6.3.9600.xxxx. You get realtek usb 2.0 audio device in the device manager.

You don't have a realtek HD audio chipset --- the driver versions come with 6.0.xxxx.1. These computer come with realtek (r) audio device in the device manager.
