One way to confirm that is to create a live boot disk (free, Google) e.g. Bob Omb's, Hiren's...
Create a bootable disk from the downloaded iso file (one of the tutorials here on creating a bootable disk can help- see e.g. Rufus instructions).
Boot the PC from that and then see if speakers work.
Do you definitely know they were working before you reinstalled Win 10?

Yes, I am sure they were, so I am going to take the cover off and have a look to see, if I have pulled a wire out. I will have to see if I can get a replacement set.
But thanks everyone for your help. Will keep you updated

Don't use a 3rd party program with a boot disk unless it's truly portable or included. Simply use the sound test in Windows as earlier.
I've never heard of the boot disk you mention.
Just tried it all again with Hiren’s BootCD WinPE10 Premium Edition Build 190103 and got the same results.... Nothing so I have ordered a pair and we will wait and see
Sorry for the delay in replying, I have been waiting for the replacement speakers to arrive. Fitted and now have sound so it seems to have been blown speakers after all.
