Somehow I've lost the icons that used to be at the extream right of my task bar. I right-click on the taskbar and the popup shows a number of choices but no volume. In fact - no icons are on that notification area.
How do I get those icons back??
A screenshot would help, also of the relevant options in Settings. Remember we can't see your PC..
Have you considered using a recent System Restore point? (Having appropriate backup arrangements in readiness to deal with potential problems is such a good idea and can save you so much time and difficulty - 3rd party disk imaging, System Restore...other backups..)

Thanks but I may have found the problem. Somehow I've enabled my taskbar to show on a second monitor. The icons do appear on that taskbar. I'll continue to figure out how to get the icons back to my primary display.
BTW - I can't figure out how to delete this thread....
