Auditgy FX Sound Card not recognized in Sound Settings suddenly

Running Windows 10 Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.3208) 64 bit
    Intel i9 32G memory

All of a sudden my Audigy FX card stopped being listed as a sound source.
It does appear in Device Manager.

    Here's what I've tried:
    1) uninstalling the device, not drivers and rebooting (hard)
    2) Uninstalling the device, and drivers, and Creative program and rebooting (hard)

The device comes back in Device Manager but is not seen as a selection in the Sound Settings - so I can not choose it.

    Open to suggestions.
It seems it happened since the last Windows update, but not real sure. It's only started about a week ago.

Have you checked for updated drivers since the last windows update?

Yes - There are no new drivers and Windows reports the device is working properly

Oops!!!! This reminds my of a similar case when a Windows update messed with the multimedia drivers and no sound card or video card (capture card, no graphics card) could be used. All applications reported no sound/video device found. Let's hope you have a system restore point you can go back to. Right-click on My Computer, select Properties and then click on the Advanced system settings. Go at the Recovery tab and try to load restore point. There is hardly any other way to fix it except to restore your system, believe me I had spend hours in my computer when happened. In worst case you have to backup and reinstall. If you are forced to do that it is a good opportunity to try Windows 11. If your system is not compliant you can bypass compatibility check and install anyway. Using Rufus to create the setup USB there is also the option to disable any checks. Select all the hacks and proceed.

Turns out the jacks to the sound card , although lightly plugged in, were not pushed in all the way. Once I did that it appeared!
Must of been the cleaning crew.
    Thanks folks.
You would think there would be some indication of that ...

Thanks God! I wouldn't like it if you had to do a clean installation. It is a PITA, I know.
