I Tunes and PC help

Hello everyone, I have a laptop that have windows 10, and I have Itunes in it up to date, and with a library full of songs, I am trying to transfer these music files to my Iphone 11 but I haven't been able to, when I click on the song I would like to transfer to my phone and exclamation sign is next to it, can someone help me to figure this out please.

If it is music stored on the computer that you have ripped, you are going to have a huge problem with iTunes and Windows 10/11. You can do it in Windows Subsystem for Linux in Ubuntu withnone of the iOS capable apps on there.

Say you've ripped half-a-dozen albums to the iTunes library:


and now want to copy just three of them to your iPhone... do this:

1. Attach your iPhone with a USB lead then, when it's recognised, select it from the iTunes toolbar (a):

(Note that in the left-hand navigation pane there's a small black triangle to the left of the name of your iPhone (b). You can click on that triangle to expand the categories.)

2. The dialog should change to Summary view (c) in the left-hand navigation pane. In the right-hand pane, scroll down to Options (d) and tick the Sync only ticked songs and videos checkbox (e):


3. Click on Music in the left-hand navigation pane (f) then, in the right-hand pane, tick the Sync Music checkbox (g) then select the option for Selected playlists, artists, albums and genres (h):

Select the Artists (i) and Albums (j) you want to copy over then click on the Apply button (k). (In the screenshot you can see I selected 49 songs using Artists and Albums selections but didn't bother with Playlists or Genres selections this time round.)

4. At this point I saw a warning that iTunes can only sync with one iTunes library at a time (and I was changing over from a previous PC) so I clicked on the Sync and Replace button:

You won't see this warning dialog unless you are also changing over from another PC.

5. In the very top bar of iTunes you will see the 'sync' process begin, starting with a quick check, then taking a backup of your phone (step 2... which can take some time):

... then copying over diagnostics info and finally - step 5 - copying over the selected music (in my case, 49 songs):


That's how you copy selected music to an iPhone without copying the entire iTunes library.

The settings you choose will be saved for you in iTunes so next time you can just add more albums to the library, attach your iPhone and tick the new Albums/Artists checkboxes then sync the changes.
