No audio input and output devices.

I have a Toshiba satellite L300 laptop which came with vesta os. I have used it with Windows 7 and of late Windows 10 version 1511 and it was very nice.
I have tried installing a latter version and it loses sound after installing any other version above 1511.
    What could be the problem.
Please note that it was a 32-bit architect and i am trying to give it 64-bit.
I have tried the following steps :-
    1) Update the drivers
    2) uninstall and reinstall the drivers.
    3) uninstall and install the older version of the drivers.
All the above did not work.
    Please help.

That laptop seems to date from around 2009 - available for under £30.

If no drivers compatible with a 64 bit O/S are available for that particular device it's simple- you're sunk- stay with a 32-bit O/S.

Similarly upgrading Win 10 may mean for certain incompatible machines some things stop working.

You are, of course, free to try a driver updater tool- only for missing drivers- SDI (Snappy Driver Installer) - free- is one of the better ones.

Continually upgrading Win 10 on a machine that may never have been designed for it leaves you with the task of trying to find solutions... or simply stay with what works.

    Good luck,
