Microphone volume changing on its own!?

How do i stop windows from automatically gain control over my mic? It just makes it silent more and more each time i say something a bit loud, even to the point where others cannot hear me speaking! Its really bad.

Disable "Allow application to take exclusive control on this device" on the microphone properties page

That's a rather blunt-instrument approach. If a particular app (like Zoom) is automatically adjusting your mic volume, then go to that app and disable that feature.

But then we couldn't blame Microsoft.
