Windows sounds

I've setup sounds on my computer, but some of them are not playing.

When I Sign Out & Sign In of an account, my Windows Log Off & Windows Log On sounds do not play.
When I Shut Down my computer, my Exit Windows sound does not play.
My other sounds (including Windows Startup) do play though.

Can anyone help me w/this?

In particular there is now no time, typically, for the shutdown sound to play.

I tried this when this was asked about before (there are a couple of threads if you would care to search tenforums where this has been discussed before).

Occasionally part of the sound may play on shutting down.
