Your LG monitor has both HDMI and VGA (D-SUB) connections. It sounds like Windows keeps looking to your monitor for audio output (playback) instead of your Scullcandy Uproar headset.

I think you have 2 options:

    1. Open Control Panel > Sound > Playback, right-click on your monitor and choose Disable. This should stop any confusion by Windows.

    OR

    2. Change from using an HDMI cable to a VGA cable so there's no confusion by Windows. If your PC doesn't have a VGA-out port then you can get a HDMI to VGA Cable (example).

    Hope this helps...

No I meant simply checking that once you had inserted the dongle and had it recognised, it would be ready after a restart. (I.e. don't insert and then try to pair- just take the headphones out of the equation).

But it seems you lose its driver on a restart.

I wonder if you can borrow a different one just to try that?

I think the first thing I'd look for is simply the stability of the dongle driver. Irrespective of pairing- leave that aside- does the dongle driver remain installed and survive a restart?

My limited experience of those is that no special driver is needed- I simply plugged mine in.
The USB support is built-in to Windows but the latest Asus USB-BT500 v1.0.0.9 dongle driver includes a firmware patch as well as a filter driver and INF file for the dongle's radio that describes device and Bluetooth stack compatibility for the Realtek chipset, none of which I assume are available automatically via Microsoft's Windows Update.

Another thing which occurs to me is that Bluetooth services are, by default, usually set to 'Trigger Start' rather than 'Automatic':

My patience is gone, please help.-bluetooth_services.png

I wonder if that's why you have to kick them into running? Perhaps try setting them to 'Automatic' and see whether this resolves the issue of having to carry out 3 seperate actions to get 'music' as the preferred output?

    Hope this helps...

I apologize for not getting back to you all last week as real life has been very busy between renovations and cattle. My friend who built this computer drove out and picked it up and took it back to his dungeon. Please bear with me as again I don't have a real understanding as to how most things work when it comes to things like computers.
When I got it back there was a note attached to it. It turns out the issue wasn't windows, he had installed a MSI board but did not use the MSI software and that was causing the issue. According to him it was to protect the pc from me, which was true ten years ago but after paying for several mishaps I stopped toying with things I don't understand. Whether or not that was actually the case I couldn't say but after testing the headset works great, it connects and works on the first time with no messing about.

I thank you all for taking the time to read my issue and respond to me, I appreciate your help and patience dealing with me.

PS: I would post a picture of the note because what I typed above is a heavily redacted form of what he wrote but there is a bunch of personal information on it. Although I will mention that he did call me a dumb@$$ for not calling him in the first place, which I think is fair after putting some thought into it.
