You say Realtek only directs sound to headset not speakers. Do you have Realtek (speakers) set as default output (playback) device? and speakers connected to Realtek instead of the old sound card? Basic items but can't be overlooked.

For testing, physically remove the sound card to prevent any possible conflicts.

BTW, filling in the "My Computer" also helps.

You do realise that the 'others' supply those drivers [for their own products]?
MS are just a conduit. Apart from those generic drivers that they've always provided, such as Basic display driver & disk drive drivers, that make way for OEMs' own drivers anyway.

I have not tried taking the sound card out but I'll give it a try.

As for RealTek, I don't know where I can re-direct the sound to the speakers in settings.
Can you give me a path?

Settings/Sound. Output device (Playback device) should be Speakers (Realtek Audio).
I have Win 11 now, but here is a screenshot from when I had Win 10.

Yeah, I knew about that setting and it is set to speakers.
    I have more info though:

I was wrong that RT only directs sound to the headphone output.
It also directs sound to an internal speaker but that speaker is bad.

Because of the bad speaker, I thought there was a setting I was missing.
So RT is working as designed although I installed driver version R2.82 anyway.

My Audioengine speakers were connected to the sound card via USB.
I disconnected it there, and connected them via a 3.5mm, and problem solved.

I want to personally thank everyone for your assistance aside from hitting that thanks button.
