    Movie format question

Not sure if this is right place for this post but here's my question. I took a 6MB video which has .mov extension. It doesn't want to be sent in that format. Can someone give me a clue about which format I should be using. Thanks.

when sent, I assume you mean... mailed?
.mp4 usually works. It's pretty universal by now.

Not sure what email service you're using but I've used GMail and Yahoo - they don't care about what format the video is in only the size. If you're sending it as an attachment there's usually a limit especially if you're talking about video files which tend to be large. You're probably better off posting the video to Youtube/Vimeo etc. and emailing the link.

There are quite a few FREE online converters that could convert it to say an MP4 format if needed. At 6 MB, it would only take a few seconds.

As an example => MOV to MP4 Converter - Convert MOV to MP4 Online, for FREE.

Using an MP4 format, will also give the recipient a good chance of being able to open it WITHOUT the need for additional Software.

    I hope this helps.

I thought if I just changed the extension, that might work. No matter, TB doesn't seem to have a way of sending videos. I tried link, and image tho I didn't think image would work. I will try the suggestion you sent for converting for my next video - I'll let you know how it goes, Paul. Thanks. I can't imagine that TB doesn't have that feature.
    Ghot - using TBird.
    Thanks to all.

Have you tried putting .mov file in a zip file?

    You are VERY welcome.

I did NOT realise that it was TB. Unfortunately, I know nothing about TB, so I will leave it to others with experience of TB and the types of formats that are, and are NOT accepted.

I just sent myself a 7MB mov file as attachment using Thunderbird and Gmail. Worked OK, so you can rule out file extension and TB.

It's probably your email provider that doesn't like large files.
