    Webcam

    V21H1

I had a Logitech C525 webcam, which was working on Win 10, it's used infrequently, so I'm not sure at which point it stopped working for apps, Discord, Zoom and Skype.

This is what is happening, my camera model shows up as being successfully installed on all 3 of the above. However the picture that appears is black.

Move over to Logitech's software "Camera Settings" I can see myself live. Then when I open "Webcam Software", black screen and the app itself freezes.

I have tried uninstalling the drivers first, no difference, I then used Revo to uninstall anything webcam related, restarted then installed the software again.

Still the same outcome. Goes without saying I tried several USB ports all with the same result. I contacted Logitech who suggested I try everything I've done plus more. IT DOESN'T WANT TO PLAY NICE

One of the reasons I like the C525, is the cam itself has a 360 swivel, and a manual tilt (the software used to be able to do it too). Loigtech no longer make a comparable webcam.

I have since purchased a Logitech BRIO, which arrived today, plugged it in, installed the camera controls.

Everything in the camera settings is working. I shut down the cam software, I launch Skype, go to settings, video.

What do I see, I will let the attachments speak for themselves

I also tried Discord performed the same as Skype.

To preempt I have everything on my PC updated, including the GPU

Sometimes logitech drivers/software creates a virtual webcam.

Logitech "camera settings" may be a virtual webcam. You run logitech "camera settings". Then in skype or zoom, you may have to select "camera settings' or "logitech capture" as your webcam.

It is similar to this youtube tutorial on OBS.

You have to find the virtual webcam that is hijacking your actual webcam.

In your brio & skype screenshot, you have logi capture.

You run logi capture and then try to use logi capture in skype.

edit: of course, this trial and error means you have to re-install whatever you just deleted.
