Audio occasionally stuttering and staticky, I think it's a driver issu

    Hello.

I am on Windows Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.1466). Please look at my profile for my PC specs

My audio is occasionally staticky and drops occasionally. It has been this way for a couple of months, but I can't stand it anymore lol. I've tried resetting all of my audio drivers, but that didn't change anything. I have also ran a sort of system file checker (I followed the steps of the reply from Kathleen).

I did this system file checker over DISM because my DISM kept closing automatically.

I also ran LatencyMon, which showed this: Audio occasionally stuttering and staticky, I think it's a driver issu-latencymon.jpg.png

I recorded the issue and put some visual indicators in a video here: Please help :) - YouTube When you see the text you should hear the audio dropping and static sound I'm mentioning.

I'm sure the answer to this problem exists somewhere on this site, but I've been looking and can't find it. I got no clue what's wrong, some help would be appreciated.

Oh well turns out you're right! I had task manager open and I only heard a skip when my CPU spiked. Have any suggestions? My CPU isn't that bad but it seems to be spiking often and for some reason only the audio is suffering, everything else is running fine. Youtube videos, video games, any and all audio seems to suffer, no matter if Chrome is open or not.

Thank you for the welcome btw

What were you running when it spiked? I have an i5 and using photo editing causes it. Do you have a ssd that can make a difference

Yeah I do have an SSD, and it's pretty much full. It can cause this?

Edit: I was running Chrome, discord, and the steam store app.
