    Nice job on the title. Can you give us any details on the problem? Just started, new microphone, built-in mic, etc?

    How are you observing this hum? Tried unplugging/re-plugging it?

    its external with camera attached USB connection
    yes, plugged in and out did a mic test played back noticed the noise

    Do you hear the humming noise if you play a video/music? Just want to make sure it's not the speaker output.

    See option 2:
    Change Default Sound Input Device in Windows 10
    make sure the correct input device is selected as default

    defaults are ok speakers are good wonder if it's my tower inside causing this

    It's possible. Can you test the mic/camera with a different PC? What's the camera model info?

    Humming is usually an 60 Hz electric grounding issue. Video is loud, turn down volume before you watch it.

    PS: never trust a youtube video in which the youtuber can't even install his own audio driver and instead use Microsoft's generic audio driver (as shown "high definition audio device").
