How to find out what makes sounds

For some reason, very few hours my computer makes this really loud "Blip". I have no idea why.
How can I find out what makes sounds?
Is there a log to the sound card?

    I have windows 10 version 21H1.

Hello @ran Welcome to Ten Forums.

I don't think there is a log for the sound card, but there IS the Event Viewer.

Next time you hear a "blip", note the exact "time" you heard it.
Then open event viewer, and find whatever happened, at that exact time.

Things that cause "blips" generally show up in Event Viewer.
Mainly because, blips are used to get your attention, so they are usually caused by an "Event" of some kind.

It could also be just a glitch in Window's warning/information alerts, system.
I also hear "blips" every now and then. I don't really care enough to track them down.

It's most probably, just to let you know there has been a "Notification" ...over in the System Tray area.
IMO...it's just some useless thing MS added, that does more to confuse people, than to enlighten them.

That's typical of a hardware error.

Perhaps something shows up with a warning sign in Device manager or there might be something in Device manager's Other devices section [which means no driver installed].
Perhaps your computer maker provides a hardware diagnosis utility.
Perhaps something shows an error in Bios.

re mystery sounds (a bit off topic)

There was a thread running for many years at seven forums 'how does my computer know when I walk away' referring to mystery bleeps that happen when you get up and walk away from your pc. Lots of people had experienced it. I used to get this and it didn't seem to be hardware related because my collection of pcs, monitors, keyboards, wacoms etc change over the years, but every so often the mystery bleep would happen (it was the USB connect sound IIRC).

I hadn't heard the mystery bleep for ages, but recently I was working at my Ryzen and went to make a cup of tea. From the kitchen I heard the familiar bleep.

Son of a diddly, as Ned Flanders would say.
