    Audio issues

I have a Windows 10 box (21H2 version) running on a gigabyte GA-Z170N-WIFI motherboard and Intel i7 with 16 GB memory. I never used the sound on the box for the past 5 or so years, but want to use it now. There is a Realtek Audio system on board and seems to be installed. No sound. I have upgraded my windows 10 from 2004 to 21H2 (per recommendations of Windows Technician online). Does not fix the problem. All investigations says that the hardware is installed and operating correctly, but there is no sound. I have tried a lot, but am politely asking for help. Anyone want to give it a try? Gimpie41

Hello Gimpie41 and welcome to TF ,

Have you check Device Manager for yellow triangles/problems with Audio Inputs and Output section? Tried turning the volume up and tried testing both headphone jack output and speaker output?

Are you using plug-in speakers or monitor -attached?

Thank you!. I am stickler for 'this goes there!', but I took your advice and plugged the speaker into the headset connection. Viola!!1 it Fn works. Guess I have to 'expand' my vision. again thanks.
