    Yes. I do the same.
In all my computers & for all users, the Music folder is set to D:\Utilities\Music so my playlists are in D:\Utilities\Music\Playlists
so I can copy playlists between D:\Utilities\Music\Playlists on all my computers without having to change them at all.

    Dear Denis,

    You're killing me...

Do I need to reset my default location for playlist? my default playlist is C:\Users\User\Music, w/o looking at The laptop It's C:\administrator\users\music.

My default for music would be C:\CD Collection mp3 on my pc, and also win 10 laptop.

You Have your music in D:\Utilities\Music and your playlist as a subfolder.

Do I need to create the playlist under C:\CD Collection mp3 or is it going to recognize C:\Users\User\Music\Playlists and the laptop at C:\administrator\users\music\playlist, even if the music is on C:\CD Collection mp3 on both computers?

    TIA

Windows creates the Playlist folder [the folder containing the .wpl files] as a subfolder of the user's Music folder.
The audio files themselves must definitely be in the same path in each computer.
But, thinking about it more, I think the playlists should work wherever you stick them as long as the audio files are in the same place & WMP monitors the playlists folder. Try putting one of them where you want in the other computer then see how WMP performs.

WMP should recognise C:\Users\User\Music\Playlists and C:\administrator\users\music\playlist as valid playlist locations on each computer.
Playlists never need to be within C:\CD Collection mp3 because you have not set that as the user's Music folder.

    By the way, I assume
    C:\administrator\users\music\playlist
    is a mistype for
    C:\users\administrator\music\playlist
Making use of the Built-in Admin account used to have undocumented limitations [for example, it could not run Windows Apps until 2018/2019].
It might still have undocumented limitations for all I know.
The only definite statement I can make about it is that it is not achieving anything that could not be achieved by an Admin user account that you created yourself.

    All the best,
    Denis

Hello, I've just had a look and might have a solution. It involves DVDs. I just made a playlist of a few tracks from a few different albums. Added them to the burn list. You can select all playlists and drag and drop at once, size depending. Used a DVD and burnt it. In burn settings, data disk is set to WPL and the box checked for Use media information to arrange files in folders on the disc. I guess you could uncheck that and all the files will be in one folder. Now I have a DVD with the tracks selected but in artist and album folders in their original MP3 format. You could then do what you want with that, probably work in your car stereo as is (some need all files in root, cannot browse folders), copy the files to USB and so on. You might be able to emulate a DVD drive to prevent the need for a DVD.

On another note, I used to be able to drag and drop from WMP, can't anymore. I am not sure what happened there.

    Ty,
I see what you're saying, then I'm left with a cd with a Playlist with 150+ albums and 1200+ songs, but no actual music folder, Then what?

Burn that to a DVD disk, not an audio CD.
