Support Assist can be a problem for some and the reason I noted not to use it for a BIOS update. I have it disabled on my Dell laptop as its not needed for updates or tweaking (but its still needed as its part of the POST (Power On Self Test) software. I see AWCC posts on the Dell forums. I'm not familiar with the Alienware Control Center, but I should be as I work the Dell forums.

A new version of Support Assist was issued in July to fix a POST error. On certain Alienware laptops and the Inspiron 15 gaming 5577 (what I have) it was erroneously reporting the amount of memory has changed.
