No audio from pc monitor when camcorder connected

This may not the right section concerning an issue i have ...anyway

I have connected my video camcorder ( brought ages ago ) to my Asus K31ADE pc using RCA ( standard Red,Yellow and White RCA connectors) / to HDMI output converter to HDMI input of pc monitor...recorded a short clip and played it back in camcoder playback and i see video playback but i cannot hear audio from usb pc speakers but obviously i can audio on camcorder.

The only way i hear audio is remove sd card from camcoder and play the recorded clip using pc video player ( i use Potplayer)

Is this the only way i can audio ?

Camcorders are mainly used with tv's ....is there some extra steps to take to hear audio from pc speakers ?

    Thank you

My Pc has Windows 10 Pro with latest updates

This should work if your monitor have built in speakers.

You can try on a TV set to see if your converter works correctly.

At the moment there is no connection between both.

You can try to connect only video out to the converter and audio out directly to your speakers to bypass the converter. If your speakers are USB only you're out of luck

    Hello MaloK,

Did some testing...you're right ...the reason why i cannot hear audio when connecting video camcorder to pc monitor is simply due to my usb speakers are connected to pc.The RCA to HDMI Converter is not faulty because i tried on a tv.

So the only way you can hear audio from video camcorder is to buy a pc monitor with built in speakers.

You may be wondering why i am going through all this trouble...just take the SD card from camcorder and insert this into pc and view to recorded video with video player....problem solved.

My Asus pc K31ADE ...which is my main one and have 2 others pc's,dvdplayer and Ps5 ( using Remote Play ) all connected via 5 port HDMI Switch and i assumed that it would no problem with camcorders.

Have you experience with Pc monitors with built in speakers ?

I may start a new thread about these monitors.

    Bye...Have a nice weekend

If your speakers have audio-in jack. You can get a Stereo Female RCA to Jack cable and hook it directly to your speakers. Use the RCA to HDMI only for the image and bypass to your speakers with the cable.
