Hello, I hope someone can please help my case.
I'm sure that in Windows 10, the Dolby ProLogic II function was working before at some point, not sure what version of the Realtek HDA was it, but there were no issues, sound was coming from all speakers in the 7.1 setup. Now the ProLogic upmix is not working. Everything else works perfectly, I have sound from all spakers with 7.1 tracks from movies and with the ProLogic function witihin PowerDVD from 2.0 and 5.1 tracks, just the Dolby Home Theatre of the driver itself does nothing.
My audio chipset is an ALC889 on a Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 motherboard.
OS: Windows 10 Pro 22H2 19045.3693.
I have tried all the official drivers I could find from 2.77 to 2.82 (the latter doesn't install the Realtek HDA manager), the Dolby tab appears with the ProLogic checkbox to check but it doesn't do anything, no change at all.
I have also tried several of the newer drivers shared here (cabs and executables), the installation goes without issues everytime, no errors, but the result is no sound at all and when I try to configure as 7.1 channels I get an error that "format is not compatible with this device".
I would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!

try the HDA drivers (larger size: i.e. 151.9MB) here: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft...x?q=6.0.9239.1
Thank you @danny c, I had already tried version 6.0.9239.1, that one produces no sound at all and the message "device not compatible with this format" when trying to configure 7.1 channels.
Would I need to try to cleanup for old drivers remains? Although I don't see any remains in Driver Store Explorer.
I uninstalled previous Realtek audio driver, rebooted, manually installed new driver from the extracted cab, rebooted.
Am I missing any step? Thanks again.
then, use the driver provider by Gigabyte: GA-870A-UD3 (rev. 3.1) Support | Motherboard - GIGABYTE Global

I should have mentioned this back then but
6.0.9590.1 All OEM - direct cab download link, size 12.3Mb {recently 6.0.9590.1 on MUC has a search over 250+ entries, nearly all of them pointing to the Clevo-only 11.6Mb 9590 driver version; need to sort the list in "descending" order by Size to show the 12.3Mb cab download}

6.0.9590.1 Clevo - direct cab download link, size 11.6Mb

and Clevo themselves did release a full 6.0.9590.1 driver package on their web site 12/1 for their recent laptop pcs {even though it has "1129" in the file name}
you're welcome. as I said in the other forum, it was sort of unexpected
