@sandyt - I know what you said the first time and it doesn't matter where post #12 got the instructions from since it did work for almost 5 months which is the main point. I did not say your method did not work but it will take a bit of work to find it and that works better if no one mentioned what was the latest version released. Remember someone will always post the version # of the drivers and the audio effects whenever a new one is available so it seems one can just use the version # to find it. I always thought there was only two things one needed to download, the drivers and the software components as using post #326 from you, you mentioned the version number of software components itself as unless I missed it, no one really talks about the version number of the 4 individual components itself having a new version.

What you didn't mention was does the Realtek Audio Universal Service or Realtek Hardware Support Application when downloaded already come with the other two components?

February 2022? 2021 is not over yet.

Besides, you have to remember that you are the one who wrote the tutorial and you do this on a regular basis so instead of just searching for software components which is 1 thing, you now basically added each individual component to the picture which basically makes it searching for 4 things instead and makes things more complicated and adds to the confusion. As time goes on, it might be as simple as spreading butter.

    So basically we have:
    Realtek audio effects software components,
Realtek audio universal service software components
Realtek hardware support application software components
    Realtek ASIO software components

and I do have all 4 because while my Dell XPS 15 9570 notebook comes with only HDA drivers, the UAD was using pal1000's package and then manually upgraded in device manager.

Looking at post #337, where is the search term "media" coming from as it is neither in the Title or Products column.
And then in post #340 for example using the screenshots, you searched using the version numbers so you had to know the version numbers first to be able to do that.

Another way to look at it is that you do it so infrequently that you think it has worked continuously for the last 5 months when in fact it never did.

In post 308, I posted Realtek universal audio service components 1.0.0.447 instead of Realtek audio effects. Why? Because MUC search didn't return a newer audio effects result.

It was not infrequently because I can assure you I did it everytime someone said there is a new version of components out since July and it has always worked except like I said, just not for .978 and .980 but all versions from .932 all the way to .973.

Besides, I was talking about post #326 and not #308 as most people would read the thread from whatever they read last and not going to read the entire thread again.

I know why the original search term does not work since if you think about it, remember the 21H2 really is talking about Windows 10 21H2 which was not out until November 2021 so anything on or after that date will no longer come up under 2021 because it probably only supports 21H2 and later. And I figured out where the confusion is from, I always thought Software Components was the package of all 4 things in device manager including ASIO which never had a update since March 2021 while because of post #12, I treated software components as a package when it's really just the audio effects component. Didn't realize each item in Device Manager was released individually. You also mentioned there is a 11.0.6000.990 of Audio Effects, or did you really mean 11.0.6000.980 as I couldn't find anything newer than 11.0.6000.980.

The issue is why are you using "audio" in the search term anyway, not the other way around. How is Mokichu coming up with this search term when there is no "audio" anywhere.

I use specific version number to make a simpler screenshot in post 340, nothing to do with MUC search terms.

Otherwise the screenshots look like this (search term shown in the webpage address). Again, Sept 27 with the generic version of audio effects and Sept 29 with realtek universal audio component.

Post 308 is not my first time posting Realtek Audio Universal Service component either.

May 9 Realtek Audio Effects 11.0.6000.906
May 10 Realtek Audio Universal Service 1.0.0.374

So naturally, I posted 1.0.0.374 the newer cab file.

@sandyt - Well, I am just saying that his was the easiest to use without having to come up with search terms as I already wasted an hour in this thread alone which is not 5 minutes as I said, it takes time whenever you first learn to do something. But anyways, read what I added in post #343 above. I don't keep track of who specifically posted about updates to software components but it seems I have only updated everytime someone really posted about the Audio Effects Component when for whatever reason, I thought that was the entire package with the latest drivers for all 4 including ASIO. So it seems "media" isn't a good search term either, wouldn't it be easier to just search using the device name Device Manager for each of the software components and just try it with 2021 or 21h2, I am sure 2021 will not work because if thinking correctly, it has to do with Windows 10 21H2 being released which is probably the same reason why the earlier 2021 stopped after .973 of audio effects component. Not to mention the only thing I read is this thread on tenforums as I am doing mostly everything on elevenforums unless I was specifically looking for a answer to something. Not to mention it is the end of the year and I have other things with deadlines to go into deep detail about something.

But anyways, this is what I found are the latest using the search term below:
    Realtek ASIO Component 21H2 v1.0.0.8 3/23/2021
Realtek Audio Effects Component 21H2 v11.0.6000.980 11/1/2021 - I am not able to find the v11.0.6000.990 which you mentioned earlier or anything newer than v11.0.6000.980
Realtek Audio Universal Service 21H2 v1.0.0.452 11/1/2021 - If you didn't already install Audio Effects Component, how do you determine if it came with this version already because remember they are both from the same day, hard to know which one came out first without a timestamp.
    Realtek Hardware Support Application 21H2 v11.0.6000.258 10/20/2021

My question is why do you have to go to post 12 to figure out your search term every single time anyway.

You open the device manager numerous times, they are the same 3 (or 4) Realtek software components.

You see an item in the device manager, you search that item in the MUC. If search didn't return any valuable result, then use previous results return (i.e. "media" or OS nicknames like vibranium or 21h2 as shown in the column) as your new search term. That is a much simpler advice to give and to follow.

Basically you are screwed if you buy a new computer with a realtek ALC4050H audio chipset and Mokichu's search term returns zero drivers for you. For your information, you have to use realtek usb audio 21h2 as your search term in order to find 6.3.9600.2299 audio driver.

You see DTS software component in the device manager, you search that DTS component. Same thing for Nahimic. Same thing for Dolby. Same thine for IcePower.

Of course not, my fake example includes Dec 20, which is tomorrow. And I specifically said you will find them in February.

@sandyt - That is where you are mistaken, I keep two browser tabs opened that automatically sleeps using the two URLs from post #12 so I never go to post #12 except the first time when it was first posted. I only referenced post #12 because of your reply in post #337 as I did say in post #336, I forgot whose instructions was those. So I never have to search at all, all I do is go to the 2nd tab and hit the F5 key as I don't update the UAD driver because I will use whatever @"Cliff S" says is the best sonically sounding version so the only thing I will update is the Software Components part whenever someone mentions a new version is out except because of post #12, I thought there was one package that basically included all the latest versions of the 4 components when in reality, it was just the Audio Effects. In any case, as I mentioned in post #345, that was what I used to find the latest which did work up to v11.0.6000.973.

I also never claimed to be a MUC search expert so can only come up with whatever comes up in my mind at the time when I am searching for something.

I think what was confusing is when you mentioned using 2021, you highlighted the date of the driver since the thing is using MUC can be tricky because you have to know the exact terms to search for to get anywhere. It seems using the component name followed by the name of the OS nicknames would be the easiest method. I didn't realize you were posting a fake example or a real example as you said in this early week of February 2022 so it can get misinterpreted.

But in any case, my question was does downloading the latest date of the one component already include the other 3 components? Like using your fake example, would the Realtek Hardware Support Application already include Universal Service, Audio Effects and ASIO?

I specifically stated that real life example and the screenshots. By inference, you should have figured it out that those are not real examples.

The explanation is pretty simple --- it takes about 6 weeks for the drivers to show up on MUC.

6.0.9261.1 driver is dated Nov 1, 2021, but it didn't show up on MUC until Dec 10, 2021.

If I made an example where a driver dated Dec 19, 2021, it will only show up on MUC in early February 2022.

Yes, that is precisely the reason why I posted in those 4 specific times with realtek audio universal service. If I posted the audio effects cab file that is dated 2 days earlier, then you would miss the most of the date components.

Well, the real life example as I read it was "Real life example, 1st file dated Sept 27, 2021 and 2nd file dated Sept 29, 2021:"

Couldn't tell what you meant earlier as like I said, I have no idea on the inner workings of MUC as I rarely use MUC so as with anything, there is always something new to learn. For the other stuff, I think I already figured that part out as mentioned earlier.

Like I said, the only thing I wanted to really know is:
    "

Yes, it contains all 4 realtek software components which is why you should download the cab file with the latest date.
