Question on the pal1000 drivers, can one just install a newer version from MUC over it or does one need to uninstall the existing pal1000 drivers first, install the newer pal1000 and then upgrade using MUC?
You can update the driver and software components put there by a pal1000 package, using Device Manager's "update driver" function just fine. There's nothing really special the pal1000 install does beyond placing the stuff on the system as if you did yourself (I suppose it's other main function is the ability to remove everything, to let the system restore the default MS driver.)
Thanks, I asked because I noticed with the official Realtek Audio installers, they always uninstall, reboot before installing the new versions. I thought pal1000 only installs but not remove everything.

Speaking of which, for the Software Components, do all systems have all of the following?
*Realtek Audio Effects Component* : Realtek Audio SWC drivers package
*Realtek Asio Component* : Realtek Audio SWC drivers package
*Realtek Hardware Support Application* : Realtek Audio SWC drivers package
*Realtek Audio Universal Service* : Realtek Audio SWC drivers package
As my system does not show the Asio component.
Welcome.
Nope, my system does not support the Asio component either. The pal1000 package doesn't include it because apparently it is specific to certain systems (in other words, not generic). It's really not essential for anything unless you have a specific need for it with some special audio software.
Otherwise, the 3 other software components are essential to the UAD version of the driver.
ASIO actually showed up after I rebooted so I had to manually updated that.
I installed v6.0.9215.1 of the drivers and Software Components v11.0.6000.954 but I noticed something weird, Windows Update keeps installing Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Extension - 6.0.8991.1 on it's own as I rebooted 3 times and each time it's in the Drivers update history.
MoKiChU has posted version 6.0.9250.1
By the way the Realtek store app gets an update after this driver update so you might need to check for updates.
