    Hello to everyone!!

I have a serious problem with Realtek drivers for a long time!!

First i must say that in general i prefer HDA drivers than UAD. And here is the problem: Let's say i want to install the latest HDA driver. First i clean the previous driver with the program DDU in safe mode. Then i disable the internet connection and i install the HDA driver. After that, i enable internet and restart the PC...

When it enters Windows 10 OS enviroment, it downloads some extensions for the Realtek sound card. But the next time i log in to my PC the Realtek icon does not show on right bottom of taskbar! I tried disabling and re-enabling the icon though Realtek Control Panel and through Windows 10 settings but nothing worked!

Only when i click the icon from Windows 10 Control Panel shows up until it vanishes again the next time i log in to my PC.

If i install UAD drivers everyting is ok. Generally the HDA drivers seem to malfunction in contrary with UAD. My sound card is Realtek ALC 892.

If someone knows a solution please help me, i would apreciate that!
Hi Nifas and welcome to TenForums.

From your description ("it downloads some extensions for the Realtek sound card") it seems that the system by default needs to install DCH (UAD) drivers. That's why it automatically downloads the extensions, and that is the reason why the UAD drivers work OK as you said.
If there isn't a particular reason you need the HDA one, I would suggest to stick to the UAD driver, which after all is future proof (for now), whereas the HDA ones get less and less attention (=Updates) by the manufacturers.

The solution is for you to accept that you are just looking for trouble trying to circumvent the new drivers.

I stopped trying the HDA drivers on my new desktop with a ASRock mother board. The original driver and the drivers I down loaded from PowerSpec and ASRock will not allow my equalizer to work. I'm using the latest UDA driver from Major Geeks and Equalizer APO with the Peace interface works great.

I need to make a correction about my last post. I just went back to the ASRock download page and it list the Realtek driver as being a UDA driver. I wonder why my equalizer doesn't work with it?

Your ASRock Z490 Phantom Gaming 4/ax came with Nahimic --- which now has an equalizer.

    Nahimic 3 Update!!! Equalizer!!!!! Finally!!!! : MSI_Gaming

Adjust Your Audio for Gaming with the Nahimic Audio EQ | SteelSeries

Install your 9030 driver. You can also borrow 9123 nahimic driver to update nahimic software components. You then go to Microsoft Update Catalog to update to 9180, various realtek software components, update Realtek Audio Console (via Microsoft Store) and try to search if there are any nahimic software components on MUC that is newer than Asrock's 9123 driver.

    ASRock > X570S PG Riptide

Then you are back to 100% official.

After that, you don't have to use Equalizer APO anymore.

I downloaded the Realtek driver from ASRock again and installed. After the 2 restarts I installed the Nahimic 3 software. The equalizer does not work. It does change from speaker to headphone when I plug them in. In Nahimic the equalizer doesn't even show. Equalizer APO has no effect and the Realtek Audio Console has no equalizer. If like the last few tries I'll probably have to do a Macrium restore to get my equalizer back. I'm going to do another restart and see what happens.

The restart didn't work. Looks like I'm going to have to do a image restore.

I used the Nehimic Companion to do the updates and I now have a equalizer in Nehimic. It doesn't work but it is there.

@sandyt, I finally got the equalizer to work. I downloaded the driver and the Realtek software update from MUC. I'm on Windows 11 and for some reason I couldn't get Brinks reg hack for installing Cab files to work. I searched and found that I could extract the files to a folder and use Device Manager to update the driver by pointing it to the folder. Now I need to search and find out how to update the component software with the Cab file.
