" So the 9273 is my favorite driver until a better HDA version comes out (which I doubt). "...............yes, totally agree !
Tried them all , 9273 is super-best , using it with Dolby enabled , my Realtek-updates are finished , will keep it !
I decided to give the 9273_1 drivers a try after reading your posts. I was still on the good, old 8648 drivers.
After trying out 9273_1 for a few days, I agree with you - these drivers are very good and I will keep them installed.

It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

Whatever versions mokichu release, we get it about 6-8 weeks later on MUC. Usually MUC releases an all OEM driver every 7-10 days. But sometimes drivers get bunched up during summer holidays (right now) or during Christmas and you see 2-3 weeks without MUC releases.

OEM drivers on MUC are incomplete. At least in case of ASUS boards. They are missing crucial part which is only in drivers by MoKichU and that is extension "HDX_AsusExt_AVO_RTK".

In drivers by MoKichU is always beside main "codec" driver also this extension in the same version what i like. Without this extension is rest of the Realtek Software Component not properly working and they are greyed-out in device manager.

IMO whatever lands on MUC is worthless to me. Even if you install that driver and sw components and also Realtek Console from Store, there will be propably something not working properly.

The Extension driver inf is only needed when you FIRST installed OEM DCH drivers. Open up the extension inf file (it's just a text file) and you will see the only thing that it does is to instruct the computer to install the 3 Realtek software components. Your "problem" of greyed-out stuff happened because you installed directly from Mokichu's driver package first without installing Asus' OEM DCH driver.

This is the Asus Prime Z690-A realtek driver downloaded from Asus website.

Do you see that there is no actual files to install in the extension folder. The folder consists of the inf text files and the hash signiture cat file.

The other folders have actual files to install.

The only theoretical time you need to install a newer extension driver inf file is when your computer manufacturer decides to make the 4th Realtek software component (ASIO) available on your specific computer model --- which never happens in real life. If your specific computer model doesn't have Realtek ASIO when it was launched, your computer manufacturer ain't never going to subsequently include Realtek ASIO in a driver update in real life.

Same thing for the Realtek HSA updates (that it only consists of inf file and the cat hash file and zero installable files). The Realtek HSA inf update merely instructs your computer to go to Microsoft Store to download a newer version of Realtek Audio Console app.

And if you desperately want to update the Extension driver inf file for vanity reasons, just go and grab it from a later model ASUS motherboard in the same product range as yours.

This is why I repeatedly said that Mokichu's driver pacakges served zero purpose in real life. You can grab realtek driver and software component updates from MUC. You can grab DTS components from MUC. You can grab Nahimic components from MUC. You can grab Asus specific Sonic components from newer Asus motherboard driver downloads. It's not going to kill you if you wait 6 weeks to download from MUC.

sandyt I have tested both drivers and always cleaned Windows driver store and my observation is following:

1./ MUC drivers with componets works like i have described before, but sw components are greyed out in device manager and will not work properly because MUC does not have that core component extension .inf file. So MUC drivers are good only for updating existing drivers installed before either from ASUS website or from MoKiChU.

2./ Installing drivers from MoKiChU or from ASUS website include all necessary components and everything works properly and this is the best way for clean OS installation.

    Conclusion:
MUC drivers and sw components are not suitable for clean Windows installation. They are good only for updating existing drivers and components, because when you install MUC over ASUS/MoKiChU drivers, that realtek extension from previous installation will remain in you OS and software components will continue to work.
