    Brink:
I want to thank you for the 6.0.9132.1 HDA FF04 driver that's listed in the beginning of this thread.
I've tried different versions in my Dell OptiPlex 9020's and Precision 3620's which dual boot Windows 7 and 10.
6.0.9132.1 seems to be the only version which provides noticeably better sound volume and clarity.
I was previously using 6.0.9191.1 - which 6.0.9132.1 beats hands down.

And how does it sound in comparison with the best of them (9209? 9215?)?

    Using HDA 9191 , very good (!) , tested latest ( 9205 HDA) , did not noticed much improvements , compared with 9191 !
    9209 , 9215 , only in UAD , not in HDA.............

9209 is still the best in my opinion.
9231 is ok, but the bass punch does sound a tad softer, closer to a thump, but not in a bad way.
Hard to describe, which is why I wasn't sure how to post about it this time.

Hello, does anyone know what driver should I install for regular ASUS H97M-E motherboard from 2014? I have Windows 10 Home 21H1 on my computer. Here is my device ID (Realtek ALC887 audio codec):

    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_10438616&REV_1003
    Thanks for help.

9209 is no longer available though.

the 9209 Realtek UAD driver from Shuttle was replaced with the 9219 UAD version a few weeks later

Thanks - I decided to use 6.0.8918.1 FF06 HDA which works on my Inspiron 7537 since it has the Maxxaudio integration and is newer than the latest driver on Dell's site which is v 6.0.75464 dated 21/07/15.

Both drivers produced fuzzy sound through the speakers with Maxxaudio but the sound is OK via headphones.
8918 HDA FF06 was from Fujitsu
btw, what was the Hardware device ID of the Realtek Audio device on your Dell Inspiron 7537, Steve C? use the instructions from this site on checking the Hardware ID for a Windows Device in Device Manager

ex. the hardware ID number for the Realtek Audio hardware on my relative's Dell Inspiron 580 desktop computer is "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_10280438"
