    AVID 11 rack

This is kind of a shot in the dark but I wonder if someone here could help me. I have a piece of software that is an interface for a digital audio workstation. I've been able to get it installed on my PC but I've been trying to get installed on two different laptops and it will not work. When I try to reboot Windows will not reboot and I basically have to go back to a restore point.
Is it possible to look at logs to see what is going on here I guess that's not even possible because I can't get Windows to reboot at all so I can't get to the logs. Can I do that and safe mode?

All three are on the same version of windows. Up to date. The PC is probably the oldest of all three.

It is fairly old software. Completely unsupported and there is very little community around the software/hardware.

EDIT: in case anyone needs help and finds this.
Make sure you have the latest files from Avid.
    1. install the drivers.
    2. install the editor, do NOT REBOOT.
    3. go to ilok.com and d/l the installer. run the exe
    4. reboot.
    5. profit

Hi, if you need to use a System Restore point and your PC won't boot, create a Win 10 bootable disk (use any you have to hand, else see tenforums tutorial), then boot your PC from that disk, and via 'Repair your computer' navigate to a System Restore option and launch SR from there.

If your PC won't boot, you can force it to boot to Safe Mode thus:

I recall seeing a newer version of AVID 11 Rack emulation add on. I recently had an MAudio interface that offered that free, along with ProTools first. I don't use ProTools (I have Cakewalk/Sonar and Studio One 4.6 Pro) so I didn't install it. The MAudio Air 192/14 didn't work out and was returned.

Back to the old version. Have you tried installing that in a compatibility mode for older OS? Maybe won't corrupt Win 10.

I found a thread related to what is happening. I will follow it once I get my lenovo ideapad to actually boot. It goes into recovery mode and just sits there forever as far as I can tell Win+R does nothing. Lenovo says that gets into recovery and then I can restore to an earlier point. I think I'm going to have to do what Dalchina said above.
