Left/Right Balance on a per-app basis ?

I've googled but can't find any kind of driver/application that lets you choose the left-right balance of specific applications in Windows. For example, I might have two meetings going on and want one app (like Slack for example) to be towards the left more and another (Zoom for example) towards the right. Or maybe one is a meeting and another is a sports event or music and have them biased individually towards one ear.

Does anyone know of such a program? Maybe I'm the only potential customer of such a program.

I'd say no, it boils down to having only one sound card/adapter that Windows-based programs used but no way to separate the channels by different applications except to use the controls for it to disable one channel or the other, no way for the programs to know which. Don't know if having a second Add-in sound card would work, be identified properly.

This has some relevant functions- I don't know if this can adjust sound dynamically depending on the program in focus. You'd have to try it.

But it does let you set balance per program or device.

Set audio balance from command line on Windows

E.g.

You can also set the audio balance of specific application by specifying the name of the .exe file. For example, if you want to set the audio balance of Chrome Web browser to 25%/50%: SoundVolumeView.exe /SetVolumeChannels "chrome.exe" 25 50

If it actually proved useful, you would also need to work out how to get this configured from login session to login session- e.g. a bat or cmd file run on logon.

That looks great, I'm definitely trying that when I get back home in a few days. I've read up on it and see no reason why I can't already mark this as solved.
