    Bluetooth Audio Problem

Hello all this is my first post and it's got me stumped. I bought a TARGUS Bluetooth adapter 4.0 and followed all the instructions by running the install cd and installing the device. All went well and it installed. I can use my Bluetooth mouse and keyboard no problems. The issue I have is with my JBL Flip 3 speaker. It pairs ok with the Targus device but all the audio is staccato or on off on off or stop start stop start rather than continuous. The flip 3 works perfectly well on my phone. I also have Bose Bluetooth headphones which work fine on my phone but have the same stop start stop start sound as in the flip 3. I uninstalled the device twice no good, uninstalled the drivers and used drivers from TARGUS website, still no good same result. I'm not sure what else to do. I am running windows 10 pro 20H2 with the latest updates as of this post.
The cpu is an i5 10 gen with 32gb memory and gigabyte z490 UD motherboard with gigabyte 1650 graphics. I must add the audio is perfect when I use wired speakers from the computer, it's the Bluetooth that's the issue. The sound is from REALTEK high def audio on the motherboard. Hope someone can help. Cheers.

Hi, had a similar case where trying to pair certain headphones claimed by the manufacturer to be for a mobile device with a USB dongle- similar issues- the user had success with a different adapter.

You might consider uninstalling the BT adapter to also include the drivers through Device Manager. Open Device Manager, choose the BT device, right click it and click properties, Drivers tab, click uninstall device and check the uninstall drivers box if offered. Reinstall and see if that solves the issue. Sometimes a reinstall will fix things.

    Let us know.

BTW, I have both a JBL Flip 4 and Bose Headphones (HD700); however my both my laptop and desktop have built-in Bluetooth adapters. No issues there.

Thanks for that. Yeah I tried the above twice no good. I too have a laptop and phone with inbuilt Bluetooth, no problems only this adapter on my desktop. Going to try another one.

Then I suggest you look at getting another (different brand) Bluetooth adapter.

I haven't used an add-on adapter since 2013 so I can't say who to look to now. The last one I used was an IOGEAR Bluetooth 4.0 USB Micro Adapter, but again, that was in 2013.
