Bluetooth headphones plays music on and off constantly

Friend asked me to setup Bluetooth Plantronic BackBeat GO 810 Series headphones on her HP G6 Laptop with Asus BT400 dongle.
    1. I inserted an Asus USB-BT400 dongle which it installed all its drivers
    2. Powered on the Bluetooth Plantronic BackBeat GO 810 Series headphones
    3. Waited for it to pair
    4. Music plays but very intermittent, it plays for a second or two and stops playing for a second constantly.
How can I solve this intermittent play?
Contacted Plantronic/Poly support UK which said that the Plantronic BackBeat GO 810 is meant for mobile phones not for laptops! Is this correct?

Hi, just a couple of thoughts in passing:

    Try a monitor program: e.g.
Bennett monitors Bluetooth signal strength on a PC -- sometimes

    Consider interference:

Difficulty connecting to more than one Bluetooth device

    Resolved
    KB4568831
Note the HP G6 is from 2011, so is unspecified for Win 10, and therefore operated at owner's risk.

Don't know about forum prompt asking for build, never saw it. As I pointed in my first post this is a friend's laptop.
    OS Build;
Edition Windows 10 HomeVersion 20H2Installed on ‎24/‎07/‎2020OS build 19042.867Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

    Run Bennet Monitor

Have done the other troubleshooting several times, disconnected, removed and replaced the device, restarted the pc all to no avail.

The headphones is (fully charged) the only Bluetooth device connected to the pc no other Bluetooth device available in the premises. The only wireless device in the premises is the ISP router.

I am coming to the conclusion that the handset may be faulty?

    Thank you for your reply.

Don't know about forum prompt asking for build,
    - try starting to create a new post, look above..

Clearly at this point simple substitution would help e.g
    - pair with another device
    - try devices with another PC

If it's the same pair of devices, then it's one of the pair. But presumably you can try bluetooth in that PC and eliminate the dongle, if you've not already.

    That would leave 1 device..

    Update
Having tried many different ways to solve the problem with the Asus Bluetooth BT400 Adapter and Plantronics BackBeat GO 810 headphones playback stuttering I have received a response from Poly Support where they state that the Plantronics BackBeat GO 810 headphones are not for use with a pc.
“The Bluetooth profile of this headset is mainly compatible with mobile or tablets. It may pair to the BT400 due to then both being Bluetooth, however, this dongle is made for other headset's and this may be why it loses connection shortly after it is being used.
    * We recommend trying pairing the headset to the built-in Bluetooth for testing rather than using this dongle.
    * You can also test a different computer to confirm compatibility issues.”
Therefore, as to help others that may come across the same issue to take note of the above.

    A further update!
I have bought and installed a ZEXMTE USB Bluetooth Adapter for PC(UB400), 4.0 Bluetooth Dongle Receiver Support Windows 10/8.1/8/7/XP for Desktop and this seems to have resolved the stuttering and the Plantronics GO810 headphones work perfectly well connected through Bluetooth on the pc and not as Plantronics/Poly support saying that the headphones are only for mobile and tablets only, makes one wonder how knowledgeable Poly customer services staff are.
