    Bluetooth setup problem

I bought a Bluetooth receiver/amplifier so I could play audio that's on my PC on my external speakers. I bought a Bluetooth dongle to plug into a USB jack on my Windows 10 (latest build) PC.

I set up Bluetooth and my PC says the Bluetooth device is working properly. But I can't get the Bluetooth amplifier to recognize it.

I checked the box to OK sending and receiving on this device.
(The distance between the PC and receiver is less than 4 feet.)

My iPhone Bluetooth sees my PC - and the amplifier sees and plays audio from the iPhone.

How can I get the PC and the Bluetooth amplifier to pair?

The normal procedure for pairing is
    Settings,
    Devices,
    Bluetooth,
    [check Bluetooth is on],
+ Add Bluetooth or other device,
    Add a device - Bluetooth,
Turn on your Bluetooth amplifier pairing mode and wait until the PC detects & pairs with it.

Did the computer detect the Bluetooth device?
If not, did you check that the Bluetooth device was in pairing mode?

I have a vague memory that some Bluetooth devices need to be unpaired from one device before they can be paired to another.

Yes, the Bluetooth dongle is detected on my PC.
But you may have the answer if it first requires unpairing from any other link.
I'll try unpairing my iPhone and then trying to pair it to the PC.
    Thanks for the suggestion.

Unpairing any from other device did not help.

Unpairing the iPhone so no other device was paired to the amplifier did not solve the problem, it still does not pair with the PC.

I also have a laptop with Win10 and set up Bluetooth on that. It shows the Bluetooth dongle is working properly. But when I tried to pair it to the amplifier, it did not pair.

I know the Bluetooth on the amplifier is working since it pairs with the iPhone.

When the amplifier is paired to the iPhone, it shows "BT" as the link. Is there anything in Windows that shows what it is paired to?

Any suggestion would be very welcome.

    Thanks, Samuria.

That well may be the cause of the problem.

Athough I bought the amplifier new this month, I looked at the specs - it's BT 2.1.

Do you know of any patches or apps that would allow Windows to pair with that older version?
