If you have access to another PC, see how our headset behaves on it too.

Well should it be checked or unchecked?

Either way, it won't make a difference to the OPs problem of PC not picking up his voice when he speaks - which is what the Zoom microphone test was for.

Yes, correct - Ignore my previous comment - unchecked is best.

I set mine to checked so I could plug my phone output into the microphone input and listen to music via my speakers.

That's not the case applicable here and so should be unchecked if using a microphone (as I just found out when I checked the box for my USB microphone as a test )

Hopefully it's not the mic port that's dead.

UPDATE: I checked the microphone on a different computer (MacOS) and I had to put the microphone really close to my mouth or even had to put it into my mouth so I can hear my voice! Maybe it has something to do with the mic itself I have to investigate that though.

See if others on the internet have the same issue. Thanks for the update.

I have tried it again on my main computer! It really is probably the problem it picked up the system sounds because it was very close to the speakers of the headphone and always picked up when something loud happened. I will have to see how I can fix a low microphone
