    That said, I'm not interested in debating the merits of sound since it's such a subjective subject with lots of opinions.
    I wasn't referring to that in any way. I am well aware that audiophiles can't even agree what day of the week is today, and that talking about music is like dancing about architecture.
    {snip} ... {snip}
    Now if one is arguing signal to noise, that would be applicable, that's a different argument.
    The argument that not all USB audio devices either require to be externally powered or require to be hooked up to a power amp─be it a separate power amp or a power amp section that is in-built into (an)other unit(s)─is valid. As is the argument that a bus powered USB device (any bus powered USB device, for that matter...) is limited by the amount of power that the USB interface in question can deliver, with the exception of a bus powered USB device that contains one or more externally powered (and/or battery powered internally) components/sections.

    I'm not here to deep dive, I'm simply talking about a simple sound device using a USB connection.

    Moving on.

    @Goldengirl52 Here's another option. A proper receiver and good speakers + subwoofer is best (but ~$400+), but for a really cheap PC speaker setup, this little amp (has bluetooth for wireless phone to amp) + speakers is really pretty good. I've had this setup on my second backup PC for years and it has worked very nicely. It has provided surprisingly good sound for the money and can get loud enough to be obnoxious without sounding like poopoo.

    I have no clue where my post just went to, but I am so excited about my new speakers and wanted to thank everyone, especially NavyLCDR for the Cyber Acoustics recommend!! They are perfect for what I needed and the sound is like immaculate!! I all of a sudden feel like listening to music thanks to these!! and dancing too!!

    I'll put the link to them here but Amazon is out of stock. These were just 35 with shipping and I had a few credit dollars on there they used so I got a great deal. These are so not cheap looking, of "feeling" and they are beautiful! Love the little sound control, all easy to set up etc. Easy to change them over to the TV or my laptop if I want, phone, tablet, etc.!

    Cyber Acoustics delivered fast and the packing was also immaculate! I'll be giving them a good review for what I know right now Here's the link again for anyone interested: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...1-dc3240e894a8

    Thank you all again, so appreciate your help, Denise

    sad to say that my speakers don't actually change the volume of a video. I'm watching one now that I literally strain to hear and the volume is all the way up on my PC, and all the way up on my little Pod that came with the speakers. What on Earth can I add to my PC to increase volume on these videos? I am usually listening to "talk" videos on youtube, sometimes bitchute, sometimes other video sites.

    My Bigfish game, for example, blows me out of the room if I forget and turn the volume up for a video. I guess the truth here is that I don't understand the whole "volume" thing. If I make a video, and my recording doesn't have good volume, no one has anything out there, software/hardware, to make it better? The speakers are great, but they don't work on everything seems to be the truth here as well. Any feedback is very welcome, Denise

    Yes Lacy, I did do that as well. It's a good reminder for sure because that was the last thing I tried before I bought the speakers, so thank you, Denise Edit: Here's where mine are set ;(
