Unwanted windows sounds after updating Intel drivers

Sporadic windows chimes, day and night, after updating Intel bluetooth and wifi drivers. Happens at random, every 15 to 30 minutes, even when computer is asleep.

Right clicked speaker icon to access Sound menu. Turned off all notification sounds, created and applied NoSounds profile, even turned system sounds volume to zero, and master volume control to zero, and it still happens.

    Driving me crazy.

On the sounds tab go through the list of sounds (Windows , Asterisk, calendar reminder, etc)
testing each till you hear the sound and disable it.

    Problem resolved!

It was kind of a strange situation. My PC outputs audio to a bluetooth boombox. The chimes emanated from there, and they did sound like a windows sound, so I thought the computer was causing them.

Turns out I had a seldom-used phone running a music player playing a playlist. Output also to the bluetooth boombox. The playlist finished, the display went black, but the phone was not turned off and stayed live because of the music player.

I guess the music player was complaining by sending these chime sounds.

Thanks for replying to my query!
