    Startup and Shutdown Sounds Won't Play Properly


    Hey all, I'm not really sure where on these forums to ask this question, but I need a bit of help.

    Is anyone here familiar with Winaero Tweaker? I recently discovered this utility and found that there is an option to set a custom startup sound for Windows 10 (version 1909). When I enable the startup sound to play, it plays for less than a second and then it quickly fades out. Also, using a tutorial I found on Winaero's website, I also set up a shutdown sound in Task Scheduler, but the problem is, it plays during the startup sequence and not the shutdown sequence. This all is not a big deal, I can live without startup and shutdown sounds, but I wanted to, at least, ask if anyone here knows of a way I can fix these issues.

    Hello LonelyMarowak, and welcome to Ten Forums.

    I find that it's best to use a short .wav file that plays quickly for a startup and shut down sound. Otherwise, it's most likely to get cut off.

    If you like, you can test using an option in the tutorial below for the shut down sound to see if it may help.
