Any way to turn this anoying sound OFF???

    Hi

A major annoyance (for me at any rate) is the tri-note sound whenever I alter the volume.

I click on the speakers icon, alter the sound volume and as soon as I click off the slider, I get that damned annoying sound.

It doesn't appear to be a setting in System > Sound nor in the Advanced Sound Settings and nor does it appear to be in System > Notifications & Actions. BTW the check box next to 'Allow notifications to play sounds' is clear.

    Anyway to TURN IT OFF???

    Cheers

    Hi, try method 3 here:
How to Disable Notification and Volume Sounds on Windows 10 - Appuals.com

Personally I adjust volume my hovering my mouse over the taskbar and scrolling up and down. Much more convenient and silent too. Either
    Volumouse
    or
    Volume2
    (free) support this.

    Art,

    "Tri-note" is unexpected & concerning.
    - Does it match any of the sounds in Control panel, Sound, Sounds?
    - I appreciate that you will get there through Settings, System, Sound but I do not know that route.
    - You can just select & test each one from the whole list {not just ones related to volume} without changing any settings.
    - Or you can do the same by working through each file in C:\Windows\Media
    or
    - Did you happen to make a recording of it that you can post?

It's not one in Sounds, and it is quite normal and a bit of a daft feature...

    Hi Denis,

Now that it is off (as required) I don’t intend turning it back on again.

It may have been a tri-tone or simply my poor attempt at describing three notes following one another in quick succession!

It is now off and so no longer interferes with my use of Chrome Audio Capture when adjusting the speaker volume when I’m recoding the audio off a livestream.

    Best regards,
