PC to AVR no audio output when Atmos

Recently my setup stopped producing sound. When sound was playing, my AVR would show "dolby surround" when playing games and watching youtube. I left my computer on for 24 hours. When I came back, my AVR would say "dolby atmos" when playing games and youtube. Unfortunately, no sound is produced when it says atmos. Sound is produced If I configure the setup to 5.1 with no spatial sound. In this scenario, the AVR shows "multi ch in."

I'm fairly new to PC ownership. I have my PC set up like a console to my home theater and TV. The PC is connected directly from the GPU to the AVR using an HDMI 2.2 cable. My AVR is a Denon x2300 that supports Atmos encoding and decoding.

It took me a while to fumble my way through setting it up originally. The steps I have already taken include: making sure all windows updates and drivers are up to date, using the "configure" settings, downloading the doldy access app and setting it up for home theater, and using properties menu to set spatial sound to dolby atmos.

Got same problem, doing extensive research currently. I believe its part or window update and you can either roll back update or wait for solution, alternatively you can go to device manager/ sounds/ nvidia high definition audio driver, right click uninstall driver, uninstall dolby access app reboot reinstall dolby acess and try again.

I had this exact problem (no sound with Atmos spatial audio for games) and installing Dolby Access 3.2.169 fixed my problem. Thank you! Hopefully this bug will be fixed in a future update.

I have been fighting this issue for about a month now. It has been so frustrating. Dolby Atmos worked for years just fine then stopped. It works for my Xbox One just fine so it had to be a driver or patch issue. All speakers would work if I tested in 7.1 mode, but if i went back to Dolby Atmos it acted as if the sound was working on the windows EQ but nothing came out of the speakers. Oddly, when i played content IN the Dolby Access app with Dolby Atmos content it would work fine! But only in the app. I don't consider this fixed by Windows/Nvidia/Dolby by ay means, but your download and rollback of the Access has done the trick and brought my beautiful Atmos sound back. It has been bothering me so much and really made me happy during these times, thank you!!!!

I have the same exact problem as you all! Dolby Atmos on my PC to my home theater (AVR and 5.1.2 setup) worked fine for a very long time now and then maybe a month or two ago just stopped and I've been having to use 5.1 in windows since. The Dolby Access app works fine but Windows no longer plays in Atmos I'm trying this old version listed above and hopefully it helps me too until they release an actual fix.

What happened for me is that Windows showed the meter moving when sound was playing, my AVR showed a Dolby Atmos signal and icon, but no actual sound was being output! I could not figure it out no matter what I did. Thank you for the link to the old version; I'm going to try it now!

Edit: Yep! It worked! I don't like having older versions of stuff but it literally stopped working with the update, so I guess I'm stuck until they decide to fix it

Edit 2: I wrote an e-mail to Dolby support and explained the situation. Hopefully it'll help something.

    Thank you so much

Man is this such a life save!?!?!? I couldn't stop wracking my brain as to why this happened.

Much appreciated to the help on this situation as the fix truly did help out. Now I have "sound" throughout windows instead of an "ATMOS" track of some sort. That was the only way I could hear anything from the system is if I went to Dolby Access or Netflix and had something "Dolby Atmos" enabled running.

Thank you so much again for the help in the matter.

I have updated information for everyone! I got a response from my email to Dolby and here's what it said:

    Hi there!

Thank you for contacting Dolby Customer Support. I would be happy to assist you today!

This is affecting all AVR's that are using a Cirrus Logic chipset. It's something that's been affected by the latest Windows update.

This is a known issue that we're aware of and are working with our team to get this resolved as soon as we can.

In the meantime, we have a temporary resolve in place for this issue which is in the terms of a special build of Atmos we'll have to manually put you on to resolve this.

Can you please respond to this email and provide me with the email address that you use for your Microsoft Store account (this'll be the one you used to download Dolby Atmos for Home Theater on) - please respond to this email with that information and we'll get you added to this build as quickly as we can.
I reinstalled the Dolby Access app after going through this and this new build works just like the one listed above! At least now we have some knowledge as to why this may be occurring for us (Cirrus Logic chipset).

I made an account here just to say THANK YOU!! I have been messaging Dolby Access support since late September and for some unknown reason they never respond to my email replies. I have sent them my Windows ID email 13 times now (that's not a joke) and they still never respond saying they've added me to the custom build of Dolby Access. The link DestroyingAngel posted did the trick though. I really appreciate you taking the time to share the solution you found. If anyone from Dolby ever reads this, seriously fire everyone at your consumer app support center.

Do you have that custom build for download?
I have a Yamaha TSR-700 which only shows PCM on the display when Dolby Atmos Home Theater is selected. I've tried stuff like Halo Infinite which is supposed to support Atmos.
Normal videos will show correctly on display like videos with Dolby TrueHD Atmos, just not games.
