    Where are the bass/treble settings with an Audigy 5, Rx sound card

    Win10/x64 PC

    I purchased the Audigy 5, Rx for better sound, and more specifically so I can adjust the bass and treble for my old ears. I have read in a number of threads elsewhere and different sites that Win10 is supposed to have those settings but for whatever reason it sure does not. ANYWAY... to make a long story longer. Can anyone help me out here.... Many thanks ahead of time.... !!!

    Hello @TantalidTheOld , Welcome to Ten Forums

    Try typing Audigy in the taskbar search box. I was looking for the Realtek console in my comp, and that's how I found it.

    Thanks for the reply !!
    THAT is the problem, the console is no problem, yet there is nothing there about base or treble to set. Which makes no sense to me. I have had a number of Creative SB cards over years but this is nuts. The manual claims they are in the upmix settings, but there ARE no mix settings.
    =================================================
    (From the manual)

    Flexible Mixer Control
    Selectable input source or mixing of various audio
    Adjustable master volume control
    Separate bass and treble control <<<<<<
    Front and rear balance control
    Muting and panning control for mixer sources
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    I MAY be missing something, but damn, I have gone through the PDF manual, searched, etc. And nothing... ANYWAY... that's where I am... lol

    Yeah... I don't see it in the manual either.

    You could always use the Windows 10 Sound controls... Just right click the speakers and choose: Properties...
    It's under Settings > System...

    In the lower section of the speaker properties page, you can scroll down for more specific balances.

    Hello @TantalidTheOld,

    I have no experience of your card but looking at the Audigy manual I think I found something out:
    On Page 40 there is an "Add effect" image on which, among others, I can see a "Parametric Equalizer" effect.

    As I could see, you may open Audigy console, go to EAX tab, click on EAX Studio button, then click on Add button and add the Parametric Equalizer effect, perhaps more than once (if controls only one area), adjusting desired frequencies.

    Also, on EAX tab, there is an "Advanced EQ" radio button but I cannot know what it can do.

    I hope it helps!

    You need to install the Sound Blaster Audigy 5/Rx Software Pack for Windows.

    I just received this from Creative....... Looks like I was looking for that red herring... lol!

    "Thank you for contacting Creative Labs.
    Sorry to inform you but there is no bass redirection for the Audigy RX like in the software of other models, for example SB Z series. Different models of the sound cards have different features.
    There is no way to adjust Treble and Bass via software for Audigy RX. "

    I sure thank everyone for their replies !!!!

    It is possible to switch on bass redirection. You need to use Audigy 2 zsomething software. There's the speaker settings program which also works with other audigy card. You can get it from creative (no idea if it installs with the 5rx, it's a leftover from an audigy 2). There is also another source (sorry, lost the link) with "updated" audigy 2 apps...

    This info isnt right, the bass and treble have always been available for the Audigy RX since it came out.
    Its Windows 10 that has removed the setting

    - - - Updated - - -

    I have installed Windows 10 with my Audigy RX and the bass/treble is working as it should.
    Then did a clean install of 21H2, installed from my DVD and now the bass/treble has been removed.
    This is wrong and goes against the features of the audio cards default settings.

    Windows 10 is so inconsistent its a joke

    Default bass and treble settings for both cards,

    Audigy ZS

    Bass = 0db
    Treble = 0db

    Audigy RX

    Bass = -7db
    Treble = -7db

    That is default for both cards

    Best solution is back to Windows 8.1

    Bass / Treble for Audigy RX

    Ive adjusted it to 0db because thats where i like it.
    When installing from the DVD you can customise your individual install options. De select all but drivers and the bass and treble settings should still be there.
    A value 7.1 cheap version, no, doesnt have bass and treble, but an original £80 Audigy RX sound card does.
    I cant believe the reply from Creative say its not a feature of the card. What a load of rubbish.

    Not sure whether Microsoft have fallen out with Creative or their both in it.
