Newly Built PC Microphone jacks gives digital feedback

I just built my first ever PC by myself and I got it up and running after a LONG time .Here is the weird part. I have a USB Headset with the green headphone jack and the red microphone jack. On my old PC it worked fine. I don't know what I did here but it's not working.

Audio plays through just fine, I can hear people on discord and music. But if I try to use my mic nothing happens, if I go to TEST on discord I hear digital feedback. The same thing happens on the back of the case too on my MOBO.I don't know what I did wrong.

Possibly what I did with my first home built one .
I put the wrong motherboard to jack plug on wrong.
    Actually reversed them.
So first step is your motherboard manual and check all the connections
    are right.

It helps if I install the MOBO driver CD....

    Thanks for your reply.
