I know that. I meant look at every category in device manager, then search for updates in chipset makers website like intel, in oem website like dell and in MUC every 6 months --- just before Microsoft drops its next windows 10 update.

So my only question is which versions of the software component have the ability to enable multi-streaming. I have a MSI z390 Meg Ace. I understand how to update and verify the drivers and components with your scripts I'm just not sure which versions to download to get all the options I once had. I'm pretty sure it was one of first versions of the software component that worked, after that its never worked.

The software components are non-hardware restricted. After you installed your MSI oem driver, you can grab an Asrock realtek software component and install it on a MSI computer.

You can look inside something like RealtekAPO.inf, not a single hardware ID is present in the inf file.

The restrictions are in the msi inf. The inf tells the installer what policies are going to be enabled (which the installer looks up in the giant RTAIODAT.DAT database). This is why people used the leaked Realtek HDA driver test utility to modify the giant database. The restriction is in that giant database.

I suspect that this is a Realtek nickel and diming situation. Everything is a-la-carte.

Am I to understand that once I do a proper install of my OEM UAD that I can grab the remaining software components from anywhere? I'm trying to get the audio enhancements tab to show so that I can use Loudness Equalization. Forgive me if I'm way off, I know next to nothing about real computer work.

Also, my computer is fairly young and I'm pretty sure it uses a DCH by default. I did a TON of installs of Realtek Audio drivers hoping one would get me what I wanted; therefore, I believe I need to wipe all traces to have a proper install.

P.S. I did unlock Audio Enhancement/ Equalizer for a moment but I lost it as soon as I plugged in my headset. I couldn't get it back, but it appears to be possible at least on my machine.

P.P.S. What should I do when the MUC "supported hardware IDs" are far different from those in device manager? They are much shorter with a far different assortment of characters. They also seem to be identical for all the search results I've clicked on so far.

The audio enhancements tab doesn't exist anymore.

The MUC supported list means nothing. The only thing matters is the inf file.

If you want loudness equalization, then it is going to be on the Realtek audio console. If your Realtek audio console doesn't have it, it means that it got moved to another app like sonic studio with their smart volume feature. Same thing for EQ, it got moved to another app.

You updating (my example) MSI motherboard's Realtek software components with Asrock ones won't make these items magically re-appear.

I understand. I guess I'll be reinstalling Sonic Studio then. Can I ask what do you think of the brief moment that I did have EQ and Audio Enhancements? Some sort of fluke, I guess. I spent all night trying to recreate it but was unsuccessful. For the moment that I had it though, I was able to pull the EQ sliders in the windows settings and mess around in the Realtek HD Audio Manager as well.

EDIT: And thank you 200% for the incredible tutorial. You educated me on a difficult topic that I would not have comprehended otherwise.

Those items usually show up when the computer uses Microsoft's generic audio driver. There are hundreds of INCORRECT YouTube videos telling people to install the high definition audio device to get the tab back. Absolutely the wrong advice.

What happened to you was probably you attempted to install an incompatible audio driver, the computer refused to install it because of incompatibility. Then it installed the generic audio driver (thus the tab). But a reboot later, the computer found your previous installed compatible driver in the hard drive and installed that instead (thus the tab disappeared).
