Hello, this is my very first post on Windows 10 Forums.

The motherboard is MSI, and it doesn't have UAD drivers. So, I tried to follow step 5.
I downloaded the latest UAD driver from MUC. But I'm not sure how to proceed from there.
Can you please help me to sort this out?

In the MUC cab file, you will see a bunch of MSI or MSISST inf files. They are just plain text files so you open them with the notepad app.

Then you go to Step 3 (which is device manager and then sound, video and game controller) and look at the hardware id. If your specific hardware id shows up in one of the MSI inf files, then it means that there is a UAD driver somewhere in your computer manufacturer's support website that you can install. If your specific hardware id is NOT in any of the MSI inf files in the cab file, then you don't have a UAD driver.

But it is going to be a long hunt. The way to do the hunt is by going to next year's model in the same category in the same product range. If you have a MSI MEG motherboard from 2018, then try a MSI MEG motherboard from 2019. You download the 2019 MSI MEG motherboard's realtek audio driver, unzip the audio driver download, look that the inf file. If your hardware id is in the 2019 MSI MEG motherboard's inf file, then you can install that 2019 uad driver on your 2018 model.

But it needs to be in the same product range --- motherboard to motherboard, laptop to laptop. 2018 motherboard with Nahimic to 2019 motherboard with nahimic. 2018 laptop with DTS to 2019 laptop with DTS. As I said, it is a long hunt.

    Motherboard: MSI G31M3-L V2
    OS: Windows 10 22H2

After a clean install, there was a audio driver from Microsoft.

This is what I've done so far.

    1. Installed the latest HDA available for this MB from MSI.
    05/15/2014 | 6.0.1.7111

    2. Checked Hardware IDs with Device Manager
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_14627529&REV_1000
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_14627529

    3. Searched "Realtek Windows 10 MEDIA 2024" in MUC.
The latest I could found is 6.0.9629.1

    4. Looked for the Hardware IDs in MUC UAD.
    Found DEV_0888 in HDXMSI.inf

    5. Searched for a similar MSI motherboard with a UAD driver.
Out of 12 possible candidates, the MSI H310M PRO-VL is the closest I could find.

    MSI H310M PRO-VL UAD: 01/29/2024 | 6.0.9629.1
But when I tried to install it, it gave me the below error.

This is where I'm stuck. What did I do wrong?

Oh! Then, I guess OEM UAD isn't for this board. Anyway, thanks for trying to help.
