    Realtek High Definition Audio and Groove Equalizer.

    So, I've recently tried to change the equalizer on the Groove Music app but the equalizer would not stick, like as soon as I close the equalizer dialog box the sound changes back to "normal".

    My guess is maybe my laptop is a bit old(and by a bit old, I mean a relic by today's standard xD) and the Realtek High Definition Drivers are not sufficient anymore. I've seen posts about the realtek audio control app on the microsoft store, the realtek uad drivers and what not, but I don't know whether all of these are related to my "problem"(its not really a problem per se but I just want to get the most out of what I've got).

    I'm running driver version 6.0.1.7571, DirectX version is 12 and the Audio Codec is ALC269.
    My laptop is a Fujitsu AH531 running the latest version of Windows 10(2004).

    If anyone could help me get the most out of this old laptop of mine audio wise, I'd be very grateful. 😁

    Hi, there's not much in the way of free audio equalisers, and for some, Realtek doesn't provide one. If it does for you, you're in luck.

    Otherwise see the 1,3 here:

    Note that the APO equaliser comes as a somwhat complex equaliser, and an additional simpler GUI program.

    Hello. I've been wanting to try Viper4Windows since I had it on my phone. Thank you for the suggestions.

    Edit: Upon closer inspection, it seems Viper4Windows is no more a thing? The Equalizer APO seems interesting though!

    Just remembered- I think you might find that may not have any effect in Windows- there is a particular customised version that does though. See:
    Someone have Viper4Windows by alanfox2000 ?

    Yeah I don't think I'll go for Viper4Windows. I remember it not having any effect on my phone too for a while.

    Definitely gonna have to try the APO one though.

    Again, thanks a bunch

    Realtek UAD driver versions began with at least 6.0.1.82xx or 6.0.1.83xx (ex. 6.0.1.8356) in either late 2017 or early 2018

    the 6.0.1.7571 version is a very old legacy HDA (non-UAD) driver version dated 7/28/2015 [now five years old]

    @dalchina I've gone ahead and installed Equalizer APO with PC Equalizer GUI. It is really good so far, with plenty of options to choose from.
    @erpster4 Thanks for the clarification
