test the mic
test the mic
I just tried several tests. The highest value recorded was 17. Most of time I got values from 0 to 12. In Voice Recorder, I never heard any sound.
On the sound settings page - Above test Microphone - Click device properties
What's the mic volume on? - try setting a higher number - click start test
It is already set on max
Yes, it does. I am using the jack at the rear panel.

I looked at the other tabs. Levels, at max. Advanced, 2 channel, 244 bit, 48000 hz, studio quality. Allow app ti take exclusive control of this device., Enable audio enhancements.
on that page click on the tab listen - click listen to this device - under through device -
Select speakers high definition see if that helps
With 'Listen to this device' checked, I get lots of noise. I cannot talk over the noise. On the advanced, I do not have an option for High Def. I have 1 DVD quality and 6 different Studio quality, all 2 channel, some 16 bit, some 25 bit

OOps - 24 bit
If you getting a lot of noise you have mic volume high try lowering it
Or if anybody else can offer more suggestion's - perhaps try another mic
Can't think of any thing else lol
Found a link here that may offer other suggestions on a fix
