Using my phone as audio input for laptop. Produces scratchy output.

Both ends of the aux are grounded. I was wondering if there is a possible way to stop the ground feed from either side. There's no ground loop whatsoever. It's just that the audio is crap. The recording was fine when I tried a lapel mic. I want to use this to feed my phone's system sounds on Zoom meetings while saving bandwidth. I don't want to connect my phone to the meeting separately. My laptop only has one aux plug for both input and output. I only used a splitter to separate input and output channels. I included a sample of my recording below. It's from my music player. I'm running on Windows 10.

Have you tried going to Update & Security and clicking on Troubleshoot
Then click on Additional Troubleshooters - Playing Audio
    To see if that helps..

I already did. The troubleshooter doesn't detect any problems. I tried troubleshooting both Playing Audio and Recording Audio. The recording is fine if I use a lapel mic since it doesn't have ground on its own and needs grounding from the laptop. But for this case, I want to record my phone's system audio so I plugged it into the mic port. However the phone also has a ground on its own, creating a counter flow in the ground circuit. That causes the scratchy audio. So I am looking for a way to stop ground feed from either end without breaking the circuit, preferably from the phone.
