what is this Sound Research Corp. - Extension - 15.85.13.5816 ??

hi so what is this Sound Research Corp. - Extension - 15.85.13.5816 windows update offers me this every day and it fails to install, i have Realtek audio but my suspicions are maybe i need this as well, funny thing is this is not listed on my HP laptop support page. but maybe this is the very reason why i don't have any way to change sample and bit depth in my audio area. maybe because i need this , windows is calling it a extension.

Re-install your sound drivers from HP support. Several are given, that is for you to sort out.

SRS components are in a lot sound drivers including Realtek.

Then the update should either go away or install. Check diagnostic data has been sent with the Diagnostic Data Viewer app.

    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0295&SUBSYS_103C8615

not sure if that will help i have updated Realtek inside device manager but it does not bring this one back, i think it got lost when windows updated to vr 2004 and deleted the old stuff from laptop manufacture, who has not released updated drivers. but there has to be a way to install it. as windows update is offering it to me it just fails to install.
